Our Idea
After contemplating over 3 or 4 different ideas, we came to a conclusion that we would follow through with the following idea.
A teenage boy, whose mum has passed away, goes to visit his psychologist who he sees regularly (the teenage boy is fed up of the visits and is adamant that he never needed them in the first place). During this visit he seems to be on edge & something seems wrong. [we aim to achieve an underlying effect of eariness and something being wrong during the filming and in particular, the editing]. As the session goes on, the boy puts his head in his hands, when he looks back up to the therapist, his mother is there. Mother and son converse, with the mother being extremely quiet and cagey. The mothers' voice is not hers, but is the therapists. After a rally of questions ending with 'who killed you mum' is fired at the mother, she murmers the first name of the therapist [undecided]. The camera will then pan from the mothers face, down to the therapists' name plate, then back up to where the mothers' face was. The boys mother disappears & the therapist is back in the seat. As the camera captures the puzzled emotion on the therapists' face the film will end abruptly. [possibly with a white flash like the image when you turn old TV's off].
Actors, filming location, characters & scripts will be decided in the next few days & added to this blog.
Over the next few lessons I hope to learn
- How to direct the audiences attention using a change in depth of field, as this is an effect we intend to use during the production.
- How to create an underlying spooky atmosphere (necessity for the production)
- How to use one character's over the visual image of another character effectively & seamlessly.
- How to create the desired effect we want to create using premiere pro & after effects.
- How to find the right actors for the part(s), and how to organise them to get the best out of them for the film.
- Tricks & tips for filming & editing
